Alice Ronk is a process excellence consultant at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center where she is responsible for leading teams through process improvement implementations.  She has been involved in and led teams in the Emergency Department, Operative Services, Interventional Radiology, and numerous nursing units.

In these projects she has focused on patient flow, department redesign, never-out supply replenishment system and development and implementation of standard work.

Some of the teams Alice has been involved with have achieved the following results:

  • a one time suture savings of $182,000,
  • reduced patient waiting by 33% in the Emergency Department, 
  • reduced RN walking from 260 to 27 feet.

Prior to becoming a process excellence consultant, Alice was the manager of OR LEAN initiatives where she was responsible to manage and sustain the gains that had been realized through the OR project. 

Alice began her career at Avera McKennan as a registered nurse on a nursing unit until she moved to the OR.  She holds an associates degree in nursing.
