LEAN Implementation Eliminates Waste and Adds Value

LEAN Manufacturing is a term coined in the book by Dr. James P. Womack and Daniel T. Jones, "The Machine That Changed the World," based largely on their observations of the Toyota Production System. Lean principles can have a profound impact on any product or service to which they are applied. It’s possible to achieve reductions in lead time of 50 to 80 percent, inventory reductions of 50 to 70 percent, productivity improvements of 30 to 50 percent, and comparative floor space reductions.

Learn How To Do More With Less Using LEAN

LEAN is the essential method of removing "fat" or waste from a process. Waste can be defined as anything that does not add value for your patients and customers – or anything they are unwilling to pay for. Through LEAN, you learn to do more with less, reducing costs and delivering greater value to your customers. A LEAN system, if implemented correctly, will eliminate activities that don’t add value, as well as improve workflow, standardize processes, create visual management controls, reduce errors, increase safety and quality, and create a culture of continuous improvement. AveraOpEx will lead a team of your employees step by step through the entire analysis, implementation and benefit-capturing process.

Operational Assessments To See Potential Benefits of LEAN Implementation

The objective of an assessment is to provide a tool to evaluate the potential benefits of an OpEx LEAN Implementation, determine an implementation strategy, and identify the best place to start and level of support required for successful implementation. Four categories (Organization, Systems, Tools and Techniques, and Metrics) form the foundation for a broad based approach to a LEAN culture which engages the entire organization in the drive to eliminate waste. The assessment will be conducted during an on site visit through random interviews of representative positions within the organization and data collected about the state of your processes. Results are then be compiled, analyzed and reported back to the management of the organization in the form of an engineering report with a supporting presentation.
